I have decided to do a snap release.

Remember the last election? Only a few short years ago. Because the UK felt the need to back a presidential figure rather than stop and think about things like policies, they ended up charmed by a chummy raconteur with the complexion and moral fortitude of a blancmange.

I wrote this whilst he was still in and, while any credibility this nation had left eroded away, knew that he would eventually move on once the position was of no use to him anymore. My prediction that this was just a temporary buffet was correct. We got a succession of other leaders, and that man bumbled off to his next feast – the after-dinner circuit. So the lyrics still hold firm.

Next time you go to the polling station, have a think about the policies and not the figurehead. Think about which set of plans are best serving you or if they have been put there by people serving themselves. Vote with your head.
