As a director I have had a great deal of success in music videos creating weird and
wonderful work for a multitude of bands and artists often being heavily playlisted on music channels. I’ve worked with acts as diverse as The Young Knives, The Pigeon Detectives, Graham Coxon, Funeral For A Friend, Fightstar, Forward Russia, The Charlatans, Nitin Sawhney, The Answer, The Holloways,
Chris Lake, My Passion and In Case Of Fire amongst others.
I’ve also worked extensively in commercial program-making directing business television, internal and external communication and events film with the same sense of style and fun. Who says corporate film can’t be creative? Clients have included Ikea, Asda, Barclays, Adidas, Yorkshire Forward, Allergan, Wrigleys, Sony,
First Direct, Costcutter, Nike and more. Big Blue Chip brands that demand a high level of communication.
Add to this Ad agency clients like Attik, Brilliant, Brahm, Home and BBH.
Recent work in viral adverts for The Charlatans have also won at The Roses and The Chip Shop Awards. Not to mention a dubious amount of Youtube hits for another notorious viral involving some Scampi Flavour Fries.
I love directing something where I can tell a good story - narratives are very much my thing. But at the sme time, I also like to make something look great and think of the still image as much as the overall timeline. I have focussed much of my creative directing around music video purely because it allows me to combine these two things in a commercial yet completely open medium. What other job could you find yourself stood in the garden of a stately home ordering two glamourous nurses to give a retired clown a bed bath and get paid for it?
